1. Inquire about the material

The steel commonly used in the office furniture industry now includes cold-rolled steel plates and galvanized steel plates. Galvanized steel plates have stronger corrosion resistance than cold-rolled steel plates and can extend the life of steel filing cabinets, but they are also much more expensive than cold-rolled steel plates. Cold rolled steel plates are coated with electrostatic powder coating on the surface, which is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and odorless. Nowadays, the manufacturing process of steel furniture enterprises is also getting better and better. Before buying, we only need to ask if it is made by a large manufacturer, so cold rolled steel plates are also a good choice.

2. Inquire about the thickness of the steel plate

It is important to clarify whether it is the thickness before or after spraying, as cold-rolled plates need to be electrostatically sprayed with environmentally friendly powder after forming. Therefore, a cabinet that appears to be 0.75mm in thickness actually has only 0.6mm bare steel plate. Some manufacturers may use edge rounding to indicate the thickness after spraying. We'd better ask about the weight to show that you are very professional. Because the thicker the steel plate, the heavier its weight, and the load-bearing capacity of thick steel plates is generally greater than that of thin ones.

3. Percussion method

Tap the counter with your fingers to feel the echo, different thicknesses will have different sensations.

4. Side view

From the side of the cabinet, whether the surface is flat or uneven is due to the thin steel plate, which is prone to deformation.

5. Check the accessories

Check the quality of the accessories, such as repeatedly opening the lock, checking the sensitivity of the lock core spring, and whether the surface of the lock is delicate and smooth; Check the material, firmness, installation form, and strength of the handle to see if it can withstand long-term use.

6. Look at the craftsmanship

Whether the work of the steel filing cabinet is meticulous or not can be observed from the combination part. Each connection point of the steel filing cabinet, including the horizontal and vertical connection points, must be tightly sealed, without gaps or looseness. Drawers and cabinet doors should open and close flexibly and return correctly. The periphery of the glass door should be polished clean, open and close flexibly, without any debris or scratches, symmetrical at all four corners, and the buckle position should be upright.

7. Touch method

Rub the surface with your palm, mainly to check whether the paint film on the surface of the steel filing cabinet is smooth, shiny, and whether there are quality defects such as sagging, bubbles, wrinkles, etc.
